On November 5th, ViWO and Google hosted an event for local healthcare professionals on the use of Google Apps for Work in healthcare at Google’s offices in Irvine, California. Dozens of local healthcare executives were onhand for the event, Reimagining Healthcare, which explored how the use of Google Apps for Work could transform a healthcare organization. According to Joey Maller from ViWO, Reimagining Healthcare was “the most popular and best attended event we have done”.

Executives from MedXM and Brian Doerr, SVP Information Technology at Community Hospital Corporation both presented on the improvements and efficiencies that Google Apps for Work realized for their businesses.

MedXM’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, Rich Delperdang, and Chief Information Officer, Ahmed Ghoneim spoke about how MedXM has utilized Google Apps for business to ensure HIPAA compliance throughout the company’s work flow. MedXM is a national leader in the design and implementation of preventative care technology and in-home health risk assessments for the purpose of care management and is based in Santa Ana, California.

Google Apps for Work is HIPPA-compliant, making it an ideal choice for healthcare organizations and businesses that are concerned about patient privacy, and must adhere to HIPPA regulations to ensure compliance. Issues such as HIPPA compliance, encryption, integration with other software solutions, and more were explored by those in attendance.

Representatives from Google were as enthusiastic about the event as the healthcare executives who attended:

“I feel the Google and ViWO partnered event in Irvine on November 5 fostered a great discussion among a diverse audience about healthcare organizations taking advantage of modern IT tools to improve operations and provide a high tech and secure platform for patients, customers and employees.

Google Apps have been widely accepted by consumers and many enterprises. With Google’s focus on security, ease of use and ease of enterprise management, Healthcare organizations can take advantage of these environments at a low cost and focus on their core objectives.”

Matthew Comianos, Healthcare Sales Executive, Google

The presentations concluded with a lunch in the famous Google cafeteria, which the attendees were very excited by, and a giveaway was held for two Chromebooks.
